Before arriving in Katherine I knew about two things about the area - there
was the Katherine Gorge and also Katherine Springs. We have now visited
both and there are still a few things to see and do on our return visit.
Katherine Hot Springs are in a public reserve. The water is thermally
heated and is a narrow stream of varying depths. There were a lot of
visitors - most sitting in the warm water even though the temperature was
over 30 degrees. Peter climbed in and very quickly got out - he wasn't too
sure about what else was swimming in the water with us. I stayed in quite a
bit longer and I didn't see anything that concerned me - no crocodiles, no
fish but plenty of weed which wasn't too pleasant.
Gill and Peter like to travel. In 2011/12 they completed a trip around Australia. One of the things that they are aware of is the fact that to live your dream then you actually have to do something and that's what they did. In 2013 they decided to further explore outback Australia and crossed the Simpson Desert. Going forward they will continue to travel as they plan for the next few years. To see some of their other trips follow the links.
