We walked about two thirds of the distance of the Windjana Gorge track but
when we got to the sandy section Greg set off ahead to check to see whether
we were going to see much different by continuing on. It was hot and hard
walking through the sand and of course there is always the return trip to
make.
We had taken our two way radios with us on the walk and so Greg was able to
report back that there was really just a continuation of the same so we made
the decision to turn around and start the walk back. I trialled out a
walking pole (Greg and Jocelyn both use them) and it was quite helpful in
the deep sand and also going up and down some of the hills in the track.
Gill and Peter like to travel. In 2011/12 they completed a trip around Australia. One of the things that they are aware of is the fact that to live your dream then you actually have to do something and that's what they did. In 2013 they decided to further explore outback Australia and crossed the Simpson Desert. Going forward they will continue to travel as they plan for the next few years. To see some of their other trips follow the links.
