We have stayed at Dales Campground within Karijini National Park and like
all visitors to the park it was time to put on the walking shoes. We
initially walked to the rim of Dales Gorge and could see Fortescue Falls far
in the distance at the bottom of the gorge. From here it was a walk down
the steps built down the gorge wall, and this was reasonably easy as there
was a handrail for part of the descent but the steps are made for someone
much taller than me and were really deep. Once at the bottom of steps we
could get a really good idea of just how steep the rock face was where the
falls were tumbling into a pool, and in the distance forming a small river
along the base of the gorge.
Gill and Peter like to travel. In 2011/12 they completed a trip around Australia. One of the things that they are aware of is the fact that to live your dream then you actually have to do something and that's what they did. In 2013 they decided to further explore outback Australia and crossed the Simpson Desert. Going forward they will continue to travel as they plan for the next few years. To see some of their other trips follow the links.
