It is always interesting to read the history of places we visit. Although
the jetty is over one hundred years old it is still in reasonable condition
(with the repairs from the recent fire being undertaken).
The jetty played an important role during the early years in Carnarvon.
Nowadays it is a popular fishing spot and of course many tourists visit.
There is an old train wagon housing the ticket office, gift shop and coffee
etc. With the building of the new visitors centre soon the train wagon will
be part of history too.
Gill and Peter like to travel. In 2011/12 they completed a trip around Australia. One of the things that they are aware of is the fact that to live your dream then you actually have to do something and that's what they did. In 2013 they decided to further explore outback Australia and crossed the Simpson Desert. Going forward they will continue to travel as they plan for the next few years. To see some of their other trips follow the links.
