As we drove along the beach camping area at Quobba we were amazed at all the
old shacks. There would have been about forty of these, some being old
caravans with wooden annexes and others old wooden buildings. Some even had
the toilet building out the back.
As we continued along the coast road we had to stop at the caretakers
caravan. He told us that many of the shacks are over fifty years old and
were still in use and very popular with their owners. The shire had given
the owners two years to replace the shacks. He never said what the outcome
would be if they didn't comply.
Gill and Peter like to travel. In 2011/12 they completed a trip around Australia. One of the things that they are aware of is the fact that to live your dream then you actually have to do something and that's what they did. In 2013 they decided to further explore outback Australia and crossed the Simpson Desert. Going forward they will continue to travel as they plan for the next few years. To see some of their other trips follow the links.
