Our walks have been achieved

The end of the track back from Echidna Chasm, Bungle Bungles NP

When we set off this morning we had decided that we would like to walk the Cathedral Gorge and the Dome Walk and by the middle of the afternoon we had also completed the Echidna Chasm and viewed the Osmand and Bungle Bungle Ranges.  We were pretty happy with ourselves.

We still had the one and a half hour journey back to the caravan ahead of us.  There was a reasonable amount of traffic and so the dust was pretty bad.  Fourteen water crossings, cattle on the road and lots of incoming vehicles and finally we were back at the main road.  It had been a great day.

We will spend one more night at Spring Creek – again the camping area is full with more groups arriving.  Lots of folks have built camp fires and are sitting out.  We had a wander through the camping area, down to the river (it was a wonder either of us could walk anymore) and came back and cooked dinner and I have spent all night typing for the blog.  It is a great life.

It will be cold again tonight.  The lady at the visitors centre said that often the temperatures drop to zero degrees at this time of the year (after all it is winter) but get very warm during the day.  So we have pulled out extra bedding and the hot water bottles for tonight as we have no electricity to run heaters.  We don’t intend being cold tonight.
