Tunnel Creek infomation hut and boab tree

We had planned to stop at two National Parks - Windjana Gorge and Tunnel
Creek. Tunnel Creek is about thirty five kilometres further along the dusty
road.

The tunnel is 750 metres long and goes through the Napier Range. It is made
of limestone and is what remains of an ancient reef system. It became
famous in the late 1800's when an Aboriginal leader and outlaw used the cave
as a hideout. After years of playing hide and seek with the police he ended
up being killed in front of the cave in 1897.

There are toilets and an information shelter at the entrance to the tunnel.
I loved this view of the information shelter with the boab tree in front of
the darkness of the range behind.
